International Youth Day

This #InternationalYouthDay , we’re grateful for youth all across the globe, our mentors and mentees in the mentoring program but most importantly for every single supporter, partner, and sponsor who continues to support our efforts in the communities we serve. Thanks for choosing to support us.

“My mentors have opened up opportunities that I never could have dreamed of as a young man from a working-class family in a big Haitian city…That’s the thing about mentoring —it can carry children to such great distances and bring the most impossible dreams within their reach.” — Williamson Sintyl, CEO & Founder

The objective of International Youth Day 2022 is to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and leave no one behind. It will also raise awareness on certain barriers to intergenerational solidarity, notably ageism, which impacts young and old persons, while having detrimental effects on society as a whole.

Today, there are 46 million young people, aged 8-18, living in America. 16 million of them are growing up without a mentor. That's one out of every three young people who, outside of their family at home, don't have a trusted adult who they believe they can turn to for advice and guidance. Of those young people, 9 million face a variety of day-to-day challenges that put them at-risk for falling off track.

Mentoring creates meaningful connections that can positively impact the lives of both mentor and mentee. Those who receive mentorship are more likely to see improved academic, social, and economic prospects. Those who mentor are able to further build important leadership, management and creative skills, while giving back to their community.

That means that EVERY mentorship matters.

Today, as the world commemorate International Youth Day, we celebrate the potential

and power of young people to shape the future of our increasingly interconnected world and their resilience in trying to rise above challenges of the modern world.

Youth are often active voices at the forefront of advocating for societies to advance and improve the frontiers of good governance.

We will continue to lend our voices to ensure that every single youth has access to mentoring to help them change their mindset, create their life, and impact their community.

Today, we commemorate the energetic spirits of young people worldwide and their abilities to improve the future of humanity.
